How fun that this week's Five Minute Friday coincides with Emily P. Freeman's quarterly post on  "What I learned..." So, here is my 2nd installment of my own "quarterly update" which includes things I've learned or have "delighted in" since June. (Click here for my 1st quarterly update)

I have found another Bible verse that goes along with my word of the year, "delight".

"Whenever my busy thoughts were out of control, the soothing comfort of Your presence calmed me down and overwhelmed me with delight." Psalms 94:19 TPT

I think I need to memorize this one...I often have busy thoughts and need His soothing comfort!

It was such a blessing to be able to attend the bridal shower and wedding of a friend who has been like a 3rd daughter to me and my husband. It was a beautiful day and truly a celebration! We even were able to pray a blessing over the newly married couple during the reception. 

It was fun to go back to the Aldersgate Conference in Springfield, IL. This was my 4th time back to the same city for the conference. It's such a lovely, walkable city. I was even able to go back to one of my favorite restaurants for lunch with friends. I had worked for the ministry for many years and it holds many great memories of friends, prayers, worship, and milestones in my spiritual journey over the past 30 years. 

As I shared in a previous blog I learned that I can make a long road trip by myself and truly enjoy the time alone with Jesus. 

The calendar says it's now September and almost fall; I'm ready for some Pumpkin Spice lattes in my life. However, it's still pretty hot in TN, maybe I'll go for the iced version.
