I want to be proactive in remembering how I have felt God "delight" in me or where I have been "delighted" by Him since that's my word for the year. It's also a good time to connect with Emily P. Freeman's quarterly post on "What I learned..." as she (and others) recalls and reflects on what she has learned each quarter...so here I go with a new "quarterly reflection".
I've had the opportunity to have meals with good friends from out of town (OH, MI and PA) several times over the past few months. It's such a delight to catch up where we have left off and re-connect while they have been traveling
I have been singing in the choir where I work which is comprised of employees from all departments. We recently sang at an event and was delighted that our performance was well received and we were invited to partake of the refreshments! However, the best part was that I spent time with co-workers and got to know them better. I even found out that one of my new friends works in my building!
I was delighted a week after my birthday (in March) when both of my daughters came home to surprise me! It's always so much fun when we all get together. That happened again when we were able to meet for a Mother's Day meal and they were both home over Memorial Day weekend!
It brought me great delight to see some pictures of my grandmother and father (as a child) on Facebook that my cousins and aunt had posted in memory of her for Mother's Day.
What a delightful weekend my husband, Jonathan, and I had recently on a trip to Atlanta, celebrating 30 years of marriage! It was wonderful to relax and take in some lovely sights at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Aquarium, and the Margaret Mitchell House.
I'm also thrilled when I find other Bible verses on delight.
"...Every fountain of delight springs up from Your life within me!" (Psalms 87:7 TPT)
May you find delight in each day that God gives you to serve others and find joy in Him.
