"You can't go home again is an idiom and a title of a book by Thomas Wolfe. Some folks believe that is true. I know that if you go back to the place you call home; it's just not quite the same.
People and places change. I know I'm not the same person I was 30 years ago when I left home and got married. However, I did have the opportunity to go home again recently to visit my parents. During the weekend, I also enjoyed attending my 35th high school reunion...to save you the math antics...that makes me 53 and I graduated from Salem (OH) High School; Class of 1984. I've included a few pictures below.
I was especially thrilled to see some of my closest friends and our exchange student from Japan, Junko.
This was also the first time I took a long trip by myself. With Jesus as my guide and companion, we had a great trip north and then back south 5 days later. It was wonderful to get away, to listen to God’s leading and to re-connect with my family and friends! And though I will probably never move back to OH, it was nice to go home again for a visit.

This post was prompted by Kate Motaung's "Five Minute Friday," which she hosts on the Five Minute Friday website. Kate posts a single word each week and each blogger sets a timer for 5 minutes to write and then posts, with very little editing. (Some weeks I have more trouble with that part than others and this week I had problems posting on my blog.) Check out the other writers on this topic!
