Joining Joyce and the other authors for this week's Hodgepodge. Also, my random thought includes a post for last week's Five Minute Friday.
1. Let's embrace it shall we? What's something you recently forgot to do? Is your memory these days more like a sieve or an elephant? Well, I haven't taken the time to post a blog for awhile, and I forgot that I've been writing in this space for 10 years! I started with my very first blog on September 22, 2016!
I feel like I'm in the middle of sieve and elephant , but leaning slightly more toward a sieve, as I get older.
2. Share a trick/strategy you have to help you remember things you need to remember. I make lists/reminders on my phone. If it's not on the list, it probably won't make it into my cart online or in the store. Ha!
3. What's your favorite fall vegetable to cook with? Do you prefer your fall veggies roasted, blended into a warm soup, or fresh in a crisp autumn salad? I had to look up fall vegetables, because all I could think of was squash. I love the autumn squash soup at Panera. I prefer roasted brussel sprouts, along with other root and fall vegetables.
4. October 5th is/was National Do Something Nice Day. Did you? If so tell us about it. Or maybe someone did something nice for you, and if that's the case please share. I'm sure something nice happened on the 5th, but I appreciated the help of my co-worker and friend setting up and cleaning after a potluck luncheon for our team at work on the 7th.
5. Nathaniel Hawthorne is credited with the quote "I cannot endure to waste anything so precious as autumnal sunshine by staying in the house."
Do you tend to spend more time outside this time of year? Yes, I do like to spend more time outside in the fall because it is much cooler here in TN. I love the crisp air in the mornings.
Do you actively pause to soak in fleeting moments of beauty in your daily routine? Elaborate. Yes, with this beautiful weather, I take the time to walk outside on my breaks, look at the lovely flowers, breathe deeply as I bask in the sunshine.
