Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend the virtual If Gathering. What a blessing it was. I learned or rather was reminded of so many things: God is able; don't put a period, if God is not done with your story; don't settle for kiddie-pool Christianity, but go out into the deep and be anchored to Him! So many good lessons by so many wonderful speakers. As I have been re-reading my notes and chewing on the lessons, I have realized that I had temporarily forgotten that with God all things are possible! I have been praying very safe prayers lately and have not watched for the God of the Impossible!
As I was looking up Scriptures today to go with this blog, I found out that the Ohio state motto is, "with God all things are possible"! Who knew? I sure didn't, but that's a fun fact to know about the state where I grew up! It's based on Matthews 19:26 (NIV), “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible,” in the Message, "Jesus looked hard at them and said, 'No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it.'"
Have you forgotten about the greatness of God? Has your world shrunk as you've stayed home or stayed away in the past year? Have you shied away from dreaming and trusting God for all that could be possible?
Have you felt overwhelmed by circumstances or a faith-shaking doctor's report?
Remember:
May you be encouraged today by this song by Mack Brock.
This post was prompted by Kate Motaung's "Five Minute Friday," which she hosts on the Five Minute Friday website. Kate posts a single word each week and each blogger sets a timer for 5 minutes to write and then posts, with little editing. (Some weeks I have more trouble with that part than others.) Check out the other writers on this topic!
