I'm almost late, since it's the last day of May, but here we go! My offering for Share Four Somethings! I missed the "deadline" to link up with the others, but I pray you are blessed by my observations of God's goodness and that you'll check out another writer or two!
Something Loved: As I shared in this space in April, our 32nd wedding anniversary was in May! We celebrated with a little get-away to Northern, KY. We explored the offerings of the Ark Encounter and the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens. We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Bonefish Grill and had time to rest, read and watch a couple of movies in our hotel room. The best part was being together and reminiscing. God also gave us a wonderful surprise! (See "Something Treasured" below.)
Something Read: I have recently completed reading through the book of Exodus with the First 5 App from Proverbs 31 Ministries. I'm amazed at the detail that is explained by God to Moses to sent up the Tabernacle. He gave specific instructions for every piece of furniture that was to be built, the tapestries to be woven, and even the colors and decorations for the garments of the priests. It is a great reminder that every detail of my life is important to God, because it feels important to me.
Something Treasured: God was even in the details of our trip to KY. I had posted on Facebook our pictures from the Ark Encounter. A friend of ours from college, Wanda, had posted that she and her husband would be touring the Ark the day after our adventure. I had a passing thought that I should message her to see if they would like to meet for dinner! My thought stopped there and we went about our day exploring. We decided on the place for dinner, after a nap and were seated at a booth. As Jon and I were chatting, I looked over and who did I see? Our friends, Wanda and Ray, were also in town for their anniversary! We couldn't believe it! We laughed and hugged and asked our servers if we could change tables to enjoy our impromptu dinner together! What a fun time we had catching up after probably 20 years of not seeing each other, except on Facebook. God truly is in the details and all 4 of us will treasure the time we had encouraging each other.
Something Ahead: What's in store for June? More travel! I'm looking forward to a trip to see my parents in OH! It has been almost 2 years since we have been together in person and I can't wait.
