Yes, you read that correctly! 5 years ago on this very day, I wrote my first blog!
I started this blog because of the gentle nudging from the Lord. A friend at a conference also shared a "word from the Lord" that there was "writing in my fingertips". Over the years, I have trusted Him with what He has given me. I feel that my purpose in writing is to encourage others in their journey of faith, with what I have learned along my journey with Jesus. Jesus keeps reminding me that I am His and what He reveals to me is worth sharing with others, even if I don't feel like it.
I love how Ephesians 2:10 reads in The Passion Translation,
"We have become His poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny He has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it!"
Another verse that has been meaningful on this writing journey is Isaiah 58:11 (TPT):
"Yahweh will always guide you where to go and what to do. He will fill you with refreshment even when you are in a dry, difficult place. He will continually restore strength to you, so you will flourish like a well-watered garden and like an ever-flowing, trustworthy spring of blessing."
In honor and in celebration of my 5th anniversary, over the next few weeks, I'll be sharing things that I've updated on my website along with some of my favorite blogs! Even after 5 years, I still like my very first post! You can read it here.
My prayer is that this small part of the online world brings a bit of Jesus' light to you and brings encouragement and blessing. Feel free to use my blog as an encouragement to others. Share with a friend and invite them to subscribe!
Celebrating and also joining Kate Motaung's "Five Minute Friday," where she hosts a link-up each week. Kate posts a single word and each blogger sets a timer for 5 minutes to write and then posts, with little editing. (Some weeks I have more trouble with that part than others.) Check out the other writers this week!
