Something Loved: As I read over last month's post, I realized that November's would start off in a similar way. I loved that our family was together again for Thanksgiving. It's always fun to hear the banter between our adult daughters and to play games. This year I also loved that we tried some new variations of our favorite Thanksgiving dishes. Instead of the regular green bean casserole, I found a new recipe that added cheese sauce and bacon. Everything is better with bacon and cheese, right? Even though it was more complicated to prepare it was definitely worth it! Also, my husband joined in the fun of cooking by making yummy bacon, cheddar apple biscuits and a delectable vanilla pound cake. We even tried a butter board this year and a new pie crust that you don't have to roll out!
Something Gleaned: I started a new Advent devotional written by Annie F. Downs and her team. This first week of Advent focuses on Hope and included Psalm 27:13-14. The study included the NIV, but I really appreciate how it reads in The Passion Translation. I want to be entwined with God!
Something Braved or Saved: Here are some more pictures I saved on my phone from our Thanksgiving weekend!
Something Achieved: Last month in the "saved" section, I mentioned the Creamy Broccoli Cheddar Casserole with Garlic Butter Pretzels (Half Baked Harvest website) and that I would report back. Well, I'm happy to say that I completed my assignment by making this delicious recipe and wow, it was quite yummy! Warm, satisfying, comfort food for sure, and definitely worth the extra effort.
I'd love to hear what you loved, gleaned, braved (or saved), or achieved in November!
