June is coming to a close, so you know what that means, it's time for my monthly review via Heather Gerwing's Share Four Somethings. Check out her blog and the other writers.
Something Loved: I love to read, make lists, and have yearly reading goals. I was recently introduced to an app that keeps track of all of those things! Bookly helps make reading a habit. It keeps track of books you're reading, want to read, or have read. You can decide to read a certain amount of time each day and it even has a reminder feature. I'm reading for 22 minutes (in the year 2022) on most days. I love that it also has a feature for library books; set the due date and the app figures out how many minutes you need to read every day in order to finish on time! A handy toggle button shows if you've borrowed from or lent a book to a friend. No more forgetting who to return the book to or finding the book at a certain friend's house, when you think it's lost.
Something Gleaned: While studying Romans 12:1-2 in the First 5 app, I loved these words from Sandell Snyder, "Obedience may cost us something but restoration through Jesus changes everything. We find peace in presenting our lives; a life of sacrifice is an act of worship." May we all find that peace in Jesus as we worship Him.
Something Braved (or Saved): A recent quote I saved on my phone from a friend's Instagram story feed.
Something Achieved: This week marks the halfway point to full achievement, but I'm still celebrating! I joined Lisa Burgess who blogs at Lisa Notes on memorizing 8 verses of Romans 8 in 8 weeks (June and July). I haven't memorized Scripture in years. It brings me back to my Awana memorization books in elementary and high school and the times in college I memorized packets of memory cards (topical memory system) provided by the Navigators. It's brought a renewed sense of accomplishment and love of the words in God's Word.
What have you loved, gleaned, braved/saved, or achieved in June? I'd love to hear from you via my social channels or in the comments below!
