It may be Saturday, but I decided to join the Wednesday Hodgepodge anyway. It may be short on pictures, but here we go.
1. What's something you enjoy now that your younger self would never have appreciated?
The first cup of coffee of the morning, along with time to read a few blogs and my daily Bible reading. I didn't drink coffee until after we were married and my Grandmother would want coffee when she came to visit. We would buy a small jar of Sanka instant coffee, but she didn't prefer that, so one time she came and brought a can of coffee and our first Mr. Coffee maker...the rest is history. Ha ha.
2. What was peaceful about today?
Well, it's Saturday, so the slow morning of coffee, reading, and now taking time to write this blog has been peaceful for me.
3. It's National Blueberry Day (July 8). Will you celebrate? You can have one of the following right now-a slice of blueberry pie, a warm blueberry muffin, or a stack of blueberry pancakes...which do you choose?
I missed the actual day and I don't remember if I had blueberries that day, but right now I would choose a warm blueberry muffin! I know at some point this week I had blueberries with my protein pancakes, too.
This or that-blueberries or raspberries? blueberries or strawberries? I love all kinds of berries, but we always have blueberries in the freezer. I also like them in any form - fresh, frozen, in a smoothie, jam, or cobbler!
4. Do you need a break? From what? The oppressive heat of summer in TN. You would think after living in the South for the last 26 years I would be used to it.
5. What has surprised you most about getting older? I don't have the stamina to do things that I used to do when I was younger. I need more time in between projects. Also, I know I'm getting old because loud restaurants don't appeal to me either. I prefer a calm, quiet atmosphere where I can enjoy the conversation of the people around the table!
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I managed to do an entire blog with no pictures! Maybe next time. It was quicker to write and post for sure.
I have been reading along with the Christian Fiction Reading Challenge, and I have found some new-to-me authors. I'm a little behind, but I'm currently reading To Win a Crown by Rachel Hauck and I'm really enjoying it!
