Hello! I have recently found Joyce, who hosts a fun weekly link-up called Hodgepodge.
She poses questions, then encourages others post the answers on their blog. I've read Jennifer's answers for many months and decided to give it a try myself. I'm not sure I'll post this every week, but let's see how this goes.
1. Ice skating, skiing, sledding, snowshoeing, playing in the snow, or a snowy walk...which winter activity do you choose? Have you done any of these activities so far this winter? I prefer a snowy walk with the promise of hot chocolate afterwards. This weekend has been our first real taste of winter. A lovely inch of snow yesterday and then a good bit of freezing rain today. I'm choosing to stay inside, so none of these activities for me so far this winter.
2. Everyone is posting pictures from ten years ago on their social media sites so let's jump on the bandwagon too. Share one photo and one thought to go with said photo from the year 2016. And maybe everyone isn't doing this, but many are and we're going to be part of the fun. 10 years ago, almost to the day, we had a heavy snow in TN. We went sledding, made snow cream, and built an igloo with our oldest daughter. Later that same year, I changed jobs. Except for the glasses and more gray hair, I don't think I've changed too much in 10 years.
3. What's a trend you hope disappears in this new year? Posting AI-generated photos as Christmas pictures. I'm not super into trends either.
4. 'They' say there's a day for everything and January 21st proves it. National Granola Bar Day. Do you like granola bars? How about just regular granola? Do you like bars of other kinds? Yes, I like granola bars, especially the chewy kind. Granola on yogurt is yummy, too. I also like protein bars, especially David bars.
5. A frozen lake, a trickling stream, a raging river, or a deep well...which one describes something about your life right now? Elaborate as much or as little as you like. At this point in my life, I feel like life experiences have provided a deep well of good water, reserves that I can pull up to be nourished and to help others. Not that I've done this on my own, but God has provided.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I found a Charles Dickens eBook of 5 of his Christmas stories. I had never read his classic, A Christmas Carol. Even though I have seen several movie versions, The Muppet Christmas Carol is my favorite and amazingly close to the book. The other stories were unfamiliar, but I am happy to be reading "literature" for a change. The other titles include: The Chimes, The Cricket on the Hearth, The Battle of Life, and The Haunted Man.
