Yesterday I shared my life verse from Zephaniah 3:17 and how I can picture myself dancing with Jesus. This image has not always been easy, but as I get older, it comes more often. Over the weekend I was part of a team leading a retreat and a friend of mine shared some thoughts on using DANCE as this acronym.
D - Dream His everlasting dreams. What does Jesus want for you in this life? What do you want from this life? Dream BIG.
A - Accept His grace.
"God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago." Ephesians 2:8-10, NLT
N - Never forget who you are in Christ.
"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people who are God’s own possession. You have become this people so that you may speak of the wonderful acts of the One who called you out of darkness into His amazing light." I Peter 2:9, CEB
C - Come out of hiding and take your appointed position.
"If the whole body were an eye, what would happen to the hearing? And if the whole body were an ear, what would happen to the sense of smell? But as it is, God has placed each one of the parts in the body just like He wanted." I Corinthians 12:17-18, CEB
E - Embrace life's battles.
"He’s the one who comforts us in all our trouble so that we can comfort other people who are in every kind of trouble. We offer the same comfort that we ourselves received from God." II Corinthians 1:4 ,CEB
I don't know about you, but I want to DANCE. I want to dream God's dreams for my life. I want to accept His grace and offer it to others. I want to never forget who I am in Jesus. I have a new identity in Christ and I want to live freely in Him. I am learning to come out of hiding and take my appointed position. You and I were created for such a time as this. We are all part of His body and God needs all of our voices in our own spheres of influence. Otherwise the body of Christ is missing out on what He wants to do through us. I am choosing embrace life's battles, even when it's hard, because He is the victor! God has already won. God won't waste anything in our lives, because He wants our pain and the lessons we have learned through the battles to help others.
Let's DANCE together with Jesus!
