Here's my offering for this week's prompt, "Breathe".
It's been so nice to sit out on our newly cleaned deck and enjoy Your creation and just breathe in the beauty. The green trees rustling, gray squirrels scampering and the lovely birds singing their songs to You and each other.
Your breath brought new life into Adam and Eve. Your breath injects renewal into my weary soul after a long day at work or too much time spent on social media. Time to breathe...to pause and rest before continuing to the next thing; to feel free of restraint. Time to listen for Your voice, time to sit and worship, even if it's just for a few minutes.
Breathing spiritually is just as important as breathing physically. I want to take time to gaze upon You, Lord, listen to some worship music, and read the Word.

"God’s Spirit has fashioned me and the breath of the Highest One imparts life to me."

One of my favorite hymns is Breathe on Me, Breath of God. May this be your prayer today.
This post was prompted by Kate Motaung's "Five Minute Friday," which she hosts on the Five Minute Friday website. Kate posts a single word each week and each blogger sets a timer for 5 minutes to write and then posts, with little editing. (Some weeks I have more trouble with that part than others.) Check out the other writers on this topic!
