I think I say this every month...where did the time go? I feel like I just posted and now it's time for another installment of "Share Four Somethings" hosted by Jennifer Goodwin. Join me and the other writers who share a small piece of our lives here on the internet.
Something Loved: My birthday celebration extended into April when our daughters came home to celebrate my birthday! It's always so fun to be together and this month was no exception! My husband made a delicious chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and Andes candies bits between the layers! My daughters gave me a new Kindle. I love it and I didn't even realize I needed one! It's easier on my eyes to read than on my phone or Ipad. Very thoughtful!

Something Read: Speaking of reading, I think I have read every day this month, thanks to my new Kindle and also a new book from my parents, Beth Moore's memoir, All My Knotted Up Life. Wow! It's amazing to read the story behind the scenes and all that she has been through. She shares from her heart and I respect her even more than I did before. This book is a testament to the hand of God on her life and how He chooses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. I have done several of her studies in the past and appreciate her love for the Word. If you haven't read it, check it out.
Something Learned: Sometimes, I feel like I'm in a rut and much of my life looks the same. Work, church, make dinner, keep the house reasonably clean, do laundry, repeat. This month, my husband and I were invited by his work colleagues to try "Painting with a Twist". I wasn't sure if I could do it and my daughter reminded me to not let my perfectionism get in the way. Well, we had a delightful time learning how to paint and it brought out a different side of our creativity. Now I have a new painting in my home office.

Something Eaten: Last Saturday I made Baker by Nature's Lemony Chicken and Rice Soup. It was so delicious and satisfying! It took a bit of time, but was a relaxing way to fill a Saturday afternoon. You can take some shortcuts by using a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store and frozen veggies that are already cut. Try it...we are putting this into our regular rotation of meals!
So, there you have it, April in a nutshell! How was your month?
