As I was singing in the choir on Sunday, the Lord met me. I love it when He steps in when we
least expect it. The song was Peace Be Still.
"And no matter where you are, or where you've been. I am sure, He wants you to know...He won't let go. He won't let go, Jesus won't let go, He won't let go. I am sure, He wants you to know, He won't let go."
Jesus invited me last week to step out of my boat of security to join Him in a ministry
adventure that will happen in the fall. It's for a weekend event that I have never led before. At
first, I was shocked I was even asked to lead it. However, the more I prayed, I just couldn't shake off the feeling that I was supposed to say "yes" to the opportunity. The Lord didn't ask if I felt
capable or prepared, His only question was "Are you willing?" Simple, pure, yet so profound.
So, I answered with "yes, I am willing." A few times since then, I have asked myself, "Why did I say yes?" "I'm not sure I can do this. It will take time, learning, planning, stretching, etc."
Then Sunday...in the middle of the service, Jesus showed up in a song and said, "I won't let go".
I have renewed faith and courage that He will equip me and never let me go.
"Because I, your God, have a firm grip on you and I’m not letting go. I’m telling you, ‘Don’t panic. I’m right here to help you.’" (Isaiah 41:13 The Message)
Where do you need to be willing? Allow the Lord to say to you, "I won't let go."
This post is part of Kate Motaung's "Five Minute Friday," which she hosts on the Five Minute Friday website. Kate posts a single word each week and each blogger sets a timer for 5 minutes to write and then posts, with very little editing. (Some weeks I have more trouble with that part than others) Check out the other writers this week!
