This week's Five Minute Friday Challenge prompt was "worth". Go!
Worth means to place a monetary value on something as in a "dollar's worth of gas" or to ascribe worth as measured by its qualities, a moral or personal value.
Several idioms came to mind as I was preparing to write, "A bird in hand is worth two in the bush”, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”, and I even found a new one, A swarm in May is worth a load of hay”. I don't even know what that one means, but it sounded interesting.
Sometimes we wonder if what we do, say or write is "worth it". Worth is different for each individual and what I find "worthy", you may not. I think my favorite "worth” idiom is "A picture is worth a thousand words". So, I decided to take just a few extra minutes to look for some pictures that carry a story in my mind and heart that I don't have the time to write.
STOP.
My love of reading blogs and finding beautiful pictures.
Found on a wonderful trip with my husband. Outside a retreat center where I helped lead worship
A local park that holds memories and stories of walks with my family!
This post is part of Kate Motaung's "Five Minute Friday," which she hosts on the brand new Five Minute Friday website. Kate posts a single word each week and each blogger sets a timer for 5 minutes to write and then posts, with very little editing. This is an exercise in the discipline of writing.
