March is my birthday month and I managed to stretch the day into a week of celebration. Check out my recap and then go over to Jennifer's blog to read her post and those of other writers.
Something Loved: Jonathan and I were able to get away to Birmingham for a few days to celebrate my birthday. We stayed at the Hassinger Daniels Mansion Bed and Breakfast in the Five Points area. It was built in 1898 and is full of Victorian decor. We toured the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, the Civil Rights Institute, Sloss Furnace, and the Birmingham Zoo. We had wonderful weather, for the most part, and enjoyed our time away tremendously.

The celebration continued through the weekend of Easter, as our daughters came home to celebrate my birthday. It's always good to be together, even though we didn't get any pictures of the 4 of us this time. However, we did take a picture of the amazing 4-layer chocolate cake with raspberry compote and almonds that my husband made!

Something Accomplished: At work, I was tasked with implementing a new position, to help another department with their new initiative. It was hard to figure out at first, but with a little tweaking, we were able to put it into place. It takes a bit of juggling trying to make sure this position is staffed 5 days a week, but we are making a difference!
Something Improved: I have spent more time reading in the evening, rather than scrolling or playing too many games on my phone. I realized about halfway through March that I had only completed 2 books so far this year, and my goal is to finish 2 books per month. So, I finished 1 in March and have 1 audiobook, 1 fiction book, and 1 non-fiction book going currently. Hopefully, I can finish all 3 in April!
Something Noticed: These beautiful flowers at the Botanical Gardens.
