I'm not sure how it happened, but I blinked and we are now 6 months into 2023! Thank you for taking the time to read my highlights from June. Check out the other bloggers here.
Something Loved: It was such a blessing for all 4 of us to go home to Ohio to visit my parents! It was a few days of chatting, eating at our favorite restaurants, helping Mom and Dad clean out a few things, trimming some bushes, and hanging the porch swing!
Something Read: I recently re-started Annie F. Downs' 100-day devotional, Chase the Fun: 100 Days to Discover Fun Right Where You Are. This is my 2nd time going through it and it's interesting to see how my answers to her daily questions/challenges have changed, or not. I love what she shares on Day 22, "Be An Amateur at Leadership". "Everyone is leading someone." Even if it's just a few friends, your family, or a Sunday School class. "Release yourself from the pressure that you feel to lead perfectly. Instead, see your story as it already is - you are a leader, your life matters to someone else, and you are very capable of leading in a lot of ways!"
Something Learned: Did you know that the Apple watch has a camera remote? Bethany was able to set up her phone, use the camera remote on her watch and still be in the family pictures! (See pics under "Something Loved") It was pretty cool. Not sure when I'll use that feature, but it's good to know it's available.
Something Eaten: Mom had bought some doughnuts from White House Fruit Farm, which was good, because we had no room in the CRV to buy our own and bring them home. We also went to Das Dutch Haus for the breakfast buffet, Coaches Burger Bar for lunch (they have awesome sweet potato fries) and DeRienzo's (yummy pizza and pasta) for dinner. Of course, we didn't partake all of those in one day...we spread it out over the days we were in town. Sorry, no pictures.
