The last couple of weeks I have asked Jesus what I'm supposed to write about for the Five Minute Friday Challenge. He has been so faithful to answer that prayer. I know I shouldn't be surprised, but yet, I am. He has poured into me during my time in the Word and as I have journaled. So...here is an expert from my journal on Sunday morning:
Jesus, I love reading familiar passages, such as Ephesian 3:17, in a new translation.
"Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you and the resting place of His love will become the very source and root of your life." (The Passion Translation)
Wow, Lord. I just keep reading that verse over and over. I am struck afresh by the thought that "the resting place" of Your love is inside me! What is a resting place, Lord? It's a place to be yourself, to be restored and refreshed so that you can go out again into the world.
Your love is the root and source of my life...not just for myself, so that I can be content, but as it says in Ephesians 3:19 (TPT) "this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God! " Just as a glass that becomes too full in its own "place" and overflows and affects the space around it, Jesus, may I become too full of Your love and power inside and affect those around me.
Show me how to love.
I pray the Lord will minister to you as you listen to this song.
This post is part of Kate Motaung's "Five Minute Friday," which she hosts on the Five Minute Friday website. Kate posts a single word each week and each blogger sets a timer for 5 minutes to write and then posts, with very little editing. (Some weeks I have more trouble with that part than others) Check out the other writers this week!
