The prompt on Five Minute Friday is PLACE - GO!
“You're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So... get on your way!”
― Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You'll Go!
I love this storybook by Dr. Suess. It's filled with hope. I haven't moved much in my life, my parents still live in the house where I grew up, 2 dorms in college, and just 4 addresses in 28 years of married life. So, I enjoy comfort in my "places". I have traveled a bit...once to Japan, a couple times to Canada, and several US states. But, I do admit I prefer comfort over adventure. A favorite vacation place is Maine because that is a place that over the years we have visited family and had time to relax and unwind and step back from the hectic pace of life.
I have been asking the Lord how I can step back, enjoy life more and see what He has in store for me each day. I know He has put me in my new place at work to make a difference and you know what? He is showing me why! So my mountain is not really something insurmountable, but more of a blank slate and I'm excited to see what He has in store each day. Friday, as I listened to a co-worker, she said, "you are a great listener". That really blessed me. I chose to stop and took the time while I felt like I was on my way to somewhere else and she felt relieved.
You know...we are all on our way to another place....and the older I get I find myself more and more ready for heaven. I have friends and relatives waiting for me there!
I was reminded of this song sung so beautifully by Sandi Patty and Wayne Watson.
However, on my way to that "other place", I want to walk hand and hand with Jesus and go on His adventure for my life.
Where is your "place"? I pray that you find it in Jesus!

Kate posts a single word each week and each blogger sets a timer for 5 minutes to write and then posts, with very little editing. This is an exercise in the discipline of writing.
