Here we are at the end of another month (a few days ago) and the beginning of the final month of 2023. It has flown by. Check out my recap of November as I joined with Jennifer and the other writers.
Something Loved: I love the holidays! This month was Thanksgiving of course, and we had some time with our lovely daughters! We ate, we laughed, went for a nice walk, and played chicken foot!
Something Learned: I couldn't think of anything that I learned this month, but we were blessed to finally see Katherine McPhee and David Foster in concert at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville. Our daughters had bought us tickets for Christmas last year. I realized that no matter what type of music I listen to, it always moves me. Jonathan and I had a super fun evening.
Something Read: I enjoyed reading The Scottish Ladies Detective Agency. It's the first book in a series of 3 by Lydia Travers. Here is part of the synopsis from Amazon: "Edinburgh, 1911: When headstrong Maud McIntyre decides to pour her inheritance into starting her very own detective agency, she asks her lady’s maid, Daisy, to form The Scottish Ladies’ Detective Agency. After all, she knows they have a better brain for these things than most men!
Maud and Daisy never dreamed that their first case would take place at a glamorous house in the Scottish Highlands. But when the Duchess of Duddingston, concerned that a notorious jewelry thief will target her next lavish weekend party, employs Maud to go undercover as a guest to find the culprit, the agency has its first case to solve…"
Something Eaten: We had our usual fare for our Thanksgiving dinner - turkey, mashed potatoes, my mother-in-law's recipe for the stuffing, green bean casserole with cheese and bacon, and homemade cranberry sauce. This year we added a new pecan pie recipe and a cranberry orange bread from Baker By Nature. Both were VERY yummy and will be added to the rotation in 2024 I'm sure!
