//I don't know about you, but sometimes I am more prone to see the "lack" in my life, rather than the abundance. You know the drill...comparing myself to others; lack of time, lack of self-confidence, or feel like I don't have x, y, or z.
This is a lie from the enemy. God is a God of abundance! The Lord has been challenging me lately that when those "lack" statements come up, I need to walk in the "opposite Spirit" as Graham Cooke says. So...I have made some new statements.
Lack of time?
Everyone has 24 hours in a day and I need to put down my Ipad for a while and tune into His voice.
Lack of self-confidence?
I can be brave because God's Spirit has not given me a spirit of fear! (2 Timothy 1:7)
Lack of talent?
I am His workmanship in Christ and if He has called me to do something, such as write, there must be a story or a nugget of truth that He wants me to share with others. (Ephesians 2:10)
Lack of understanding?
He gives wisdom if I will only ask. (James 1:5) Jesus will not see my lack of wisdom as an opportunity to scold me, but will overwhelm me with His grace!
So, when my perspective becomes skewed, I choose again to walk in the opposite spirit and to focus upward on all that I am in Christ!
"For the Lord God is brighter than the brilliance of a sunrise! Wrapping Himself around me like a shield, He is so generous with His gifts of grace and glory. Those who walk along His paths with integrity will never lack one thing they need, for He provides it all!" (Psalm 84:11 TPT)
What do you lack today that you need God to fill?
This post is part of Kate Motaung's "Five Minute Friday," which she hosts on the Five Minute Friday website. Kate posts a single word each week and each blogger sets a timer for 5 minutes to write and then posts, with very little editing. (Some weeks I have more trouble with that part than others) Check out the other writers this week!
