This week's Five Minute Friday Challenge prompt was "future". Go!
When I was younger, I always thought about my future...I wanted to graduate high school and college, I wanted to get married and have children. You know, the basic stuff. However, I was always looking ahead. Some days, I was more anxious than others about what "tomorrow" would bring.
As I thought about this prompt, the Lord reminded me of the beautiful hymn, "Because He Lives."
"Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, because He lives, all fear is gone, because I know, He holds the future and life is worth the living, just because He lives!"
What a precious promise that is...God does indeed hold my future and I don't need to worry. My word for the year is "peace" and I'm learning day by day to live more in the present and to feel His presence each day. We each have one life to live and I want each day to count for His glory. So, even though I don't know what is in my future, God is walking with me each step of the way, as I follow Him.
Stop.
This post is part of Kate Motaung's "Five Minute Friday," which she hosts on the brand new Five Minute Friday website. Kate posts a single word each week and each blogger sets a timer for 5 minutes to write and then posts, with very little editing. This is an exercise in the discipline of writing.
