//I received the new prompt at the end of the Thursday-night, Twitter party. FOWARD. I went to bed. FORWARD was still on my mind as I awoke the next morning. I was definitely looking forward to a 3 day weekend.
I was also remembering my Grandmother, Virginia; looking backward on and off throughout the day. Friday would have been her 100th birthday, if she were still alive. (She passed away almost 6 years at age 94). What was she looking forward to? Life was simpler back then for sure, but she still saw heartache mixed with the great joy of her family.
Now it's Monday and I'm still pondering. What do I have to look forward to? I look forward to each new day, the sun shining and pretty flowers. I look forward to meeting with friends and family on Zoom. I look forward to the day when I may feel comfortable again to actually sit in a restaurant. I look forward to the glorious appearing of Jesus when this old world and all its trials will pass away and we will praise and worship Him for all eternity.//
My ponderings usually take me to the Scriptures and this is what I found today:
"You will be the inner strength of all Your people, the Mighty Protector of all, the saving strength for all Your anointed ones. Keep protecting and cherishing Your chosen ones; in You they will never fall. Like a shepherd going before us, keep leading us forward, forever carrying us in Your arms! Psalm 28:8-9 (TPT)
This is what we can look forward to! Our God is and always will be our Mighty Protector and Good Shepherd who leads us forward and carries us!
What are you looking forward to?
This post was prompted by Kate Motaung's "Five Minute Friday," which she hosts on the Five Minute Friday website. Kate posts a single word each week and each blogger sets a timer for 5 minutes to write and then posts, with little editing. (Some weeks I have more trouble with that part than others.) Check out the other writers on this topic!
