Read: Proverbs 4
Verses: 25-26 (NLT)
"Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path."
Recently while I was on a walk at Radnor Lake I found myself looking down at the path below me. It was a little uneven and I didn't want to twist my ankle. However, I realized that the dirt and sticks below weren't very pretty or captivating. When I looked up, I stood tall, took a deep breath and really looked around at all of the creation that God had made! It was beautiful! I saw the green trees, wild turkeys, and even several deer. The water on the lake was like glass and I could imagine Jesus walking on the water towards me to spend time with me that afternoon.
I realized that too often I go through life missing what God has for me. I look down at my problems instead of looking up. You know, if we look straight, He can grasp our attention. He will gently take our face in His hands and change our gaze upwards to Him! He will lead us on His safe path!
