Verse: 26 (NLT)

"Some people are always greedy for more, but the godly love to give!" 

Wow, this is such a picture of our society. So many people want more...power, wealth, prestige, the list could go on and on. However, Jesus wants us to give our time, talents and wealth back to Him. In the Methodist church, we become members of a local congregation by pledging our "prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness" to God and the church. 

I don't know about you, but I need to get outside of my selfish-self and open my eyes and heart to give to others. I believe that when we give what God has given to us, we are truly living in community.

Today I have the privilege to cook and help serve at the Italian dinner at our church.  It will be fun to share around the table and to serve side by side the other members of our United Methodist Women.
