I'm a daughter of the King of Kings, wife, and mother of 2 lovely young adult daughters. Focusing upward on Jesus.
Hello, friends! This post is part of Kate Motaung's "Five Minute Friday," which she hosts on her blog and on Facebook. Even though it is no longer Friday, I still wanted to share a few thoughts and a song with you.
Friday's prompt was "weak".
As I looked at the word "weak" I was reminded of the verse in II Corinthians 12:9 (NLT):
"Each time he said, My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses so that the power of Christ can work through me."
As a human being, I don't often like to admit my weakness, whether it be for food or not being able to do something. However, as a believer, that is what I need to do. Because when I come to the end of myself, that is really when God can take the little bit I have to offer and do something big!
As I grow older, I realize more and more that I am weak, but in His power, I am made strong. I am so thankful that I don't need to stay in my "weak" state, but I can walk daily in the authority of His name, strength, and power to live this life on earth.
I also like how the verse reads in the Amplified Bible "but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [Mylovingkindnessand My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me."
This song recorded by CeCe Winans beautifully portrays the power of God's strength. I pray you are blessed as you listen and reflect on His strength.
